Don’t miss Tiger Woods returning to St Andrews for The Open 10-17 July 2022

Just over a year ago Tiger Woods was lying in a hospital bed wondering if he would ever walk again after a car accident. Now the greatest golfer of all time (you are allowed to disagree) has made a remarkable recovery and will take part in The Open in St Andrews, Fife in July.

Old Course St Andrews

He recently made the decision to compete after coming 47th at the Masters. He is having to be selective about which tournaments he plays this year due to his injuries, but has chosen to play at his “favourite golf course in the world”.  Woods won the Claret Jug in 2000 and 2005 in St Andrews and his fans will be delighted to welcome him back.  This is the 30th time The Open has been held on the historic Old Course which is ideally suited to Woods as it is flat and he continues to struggle with walking.

Rory McIlroy also made a tremendous comeback at the Masters and is a hot favourite to win with Jon Rahm and Scottie Scheffler also strong contenders.

After being canceled for the past 2 years, The Open is expected to draw record crowds.  Almost everywhere to stay in St Andrews is fully booked and just a few of our exceptional houses remain available for the week.

Some of the world’s elite golfers chose to stay in Elie for The Open in 2015.  We were delighted to host Patrick Reed for the masters in 2018.  Only 13 miles from St Andrews, the charming seaside village offers a chance to escape the congestion and relax in the comfort of luxury accommodation. There is a choice of places to eat, a delicatessen and a farm shop for local provisions. Travel is straight forward as Park and Ride transport has been set up in St Andrews.

If you are looking for a luxurious yet distinctive, well-equipped house where some of the party can relax and enjoy a holiday while keen spectators follow the golf tournament, we still have a selection for you.

5 minutes from the beach on Elie High Street, Upper Lochburn has sea views and a garden where you can dine outdoors using the barbecue kitchen.  Recently refurbished to comfortably sleep 8 people, the double upper is contemporary and relaxing.

Also in the heart of the village is The Bank.  This stylish home from home can sleep 14 or be split into two distinct buildings holding 8 and 6.

The Blue House has a sea garden right on Elie Beach and another to the rear.  With relaxing blue and cream decoration the property sleeps 12 with an extra kitchen-living-dining room upstairs.

Set in the countryside but only 9 miles from St Andrews The Old School house overlooks an orchard with panoramic views of the sea.  Superbly renovated, the house sleeps 11.

Rosemay is set in large mature gardens, central and very near the beach.  A beautiful stained glass window and carved front door still grace the property but the interior is fresh and luxurious.  It sleeps 8.

These superb properties are available for £7,000 – £25,000 for the week. Make sure you have the very best place to stay by booking now.
