Many have developed take away services for the local area, some for national distribution. Haar in St Andrews and The Harbour Café in Elie are two companies that are selling locally sourced fish, seafood and beef to a wider audience, we recommend both highly.
It is a difficult time but if you are able to visit there is still plenty going on in the area. The Bowhouse is still running markets, although The Christmas one last week was only able to have vendors and visitors from Fife. It was still great fun and we were able to support local business as well as having some yummy food and buying some presents. Our family #seafoodfeast for the 24th has been ordered from David Lowry of St Monans who during lockdown developed a retail business in what was their wholesale premises. Its well worth a visit.
We know we will have a quiet Hogmany this year, however, we think one household from Fife can still rent in Fife so if you fancy a change let us know. The Ship is open and doing drinks on the beach until 8pm, then why not go home to your holiday house after having ordered a delicious meal in by a local business or even a local chef (Kevin The East Neuk Chef is brilliant) and enjoy a walk on the beach the next day. They do say a change is as good as a rest.
