Elie is the quintessential British holidaymaker’s dream. With its stunning view out to the Lothians on the other side of the Forth and safe swimming from its two mile long sandy beach, it’s an ideal spot for relaxing whilst the kids make sandcastles or splash about in the sea.
In summer you’ll see kids walking along in their wetsuits, folk enjoying a cycle around the village, people going to play tennis, golf or watersports – and those going off for a slightly less active gin and tonic at one of the great pubs.
Elie is always very sociable as number of people from Edinburgh have second homes here – you won’t be the only one rounding off the day with fish and chips overlooking the sea.
